It has been three weeks since my last post, but I know it's time to get back into the swing of things! A few months ago Jay found amazing deals on flights to Miami, so we jumped at the chance to go visit our family. Mom mom and Morris live in Sunny Isles Beach, and Jay's grandparents live about four hours away in
Lakeland, Florida. We had not been down there in 2 years, and I'm so glad we went. We had a great time despite the cold weather, and a family emergency requiring my mom and
Morris to leave for a few days.

I'm thankful for a husband that likes to get-up-and-go, because otherwise I could easily be a home body. He suggested we go into downtown Miami and take the boat tour of Star Island to see all the different homes of famous people. We even got to see dolphins on our way back into the harbor!

One of our favorite shows is "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." They had recently featured Tavern on their show, so we all piled in the car to battle traffic and try their food. FABULOUS.
http://www.scullystavern.net/ It was a complete dive (dirty booths and all) but we tried their Escargot, Stuffed mushrooms, and the best was the Dolphin
Sandwich. No, it's not real dolphin, but some sort of white fish fried in crushed ruffled potato chips.
mmmmmmm. I convinced Grandma Dolly to try her first Corona and she loved it! The next day she finished her first beer in 90 years--a Corona. :-)

Thankfully my mom lives close to a great park, and we took many walks there to burn jack's energy after the great/huge/yummy breakfasts that my mom was cooking every day! Thank you mom! You always go above and beyond.

Their pool is heated (thank you Jesus) and the boys braved the weather to jump in. Jack was scared in the beginning, but became very brave with his
floaties and is now looking forward to swimming lessons at the YMCA! Overall, a wonderful trip full of good conversations and connections with grandparents.
